Images published by astronomy.no or astro.uio.no can be freely used for non-commercial purposes and in the press as long as photographer and astronomy.no or astro.uio.no is given as source. This must be clearly stated wherever images are used. The image remains the property of the photographer and can not be resold.

For commercial use, including books etc., the copyright owner must be contacted before use. If copyright is specified as a named photographer, he/she must be contacted before any use of the images. If copyright is specified without name, then webmaster@astro.uio.no must be contacted before any use of the images.

We only grant the right to use images that we publish. When images from other sources are used on our pages, it is clearly stated. Use of such images must be cleared with the original publisher directly.
